“A+”: Conergy IPG T inverter receives PHOTON and red dot award

08.06.2010

PHOTON expert opinion: the Conergy inverter is at the top of its class

Results from the PHOTON test

  • Peak efficiency: the Conergy IPG 15T leaves nothing to be desired
  •  Excellent MPP tracking: unrivalled conversion efficiency
  • Concise design and aesthetic exterior

Just six weeks on the market and already a two-fold award winner –peak performance and superior design leave their mark: the new Conergy IPG 15T string inverter. A panel of experts at PHOTON, a trade journal for the photovoltaics industry, put the flagship of Conergy’s new string inverter series under the microscope. Their opinion? A+ on all counts. And the renowned red dot Institute for industrial design followed suit with its much coveted red dot design award. The Conergy IPG T finds itself in the illustrious company of design giants like Apple, Bose, Adidas and Mercedes Benz.

What more could you want? Conergy inverter with peak efficiency

“The Conergy IPG 15T is as good as it gets”, says Photon in their test results. The inverter is therefore one of the top products of its class in terms of technology. The deciding test criterion was its output: the new Conergy inverter scored a whopping 96.6% for average and 97.0% for high solar irradiation, coupled with superior MPP tracking.

Fast, faster, IPG T: Adjusting to changing light conditions in seconds

The IPG 15T reacts to changes in solar irradiation levels in mere seconds, thus optimizing energy yield in changeable weather conditions and even at low light. “MPP tracking prevents any losses of the extremely high conversion efficiency”, states the Photon test report. “Since MPPT adjustment efficiency is at almost 100%, the overall efficiency is practically identical to the inversion efficiency”.

Hot or cold: high flexibility in device deployment due to superior temperature resistance

The Conergy device scored additionally with its “concise and production-friendly design” and its “aesthetic plastic and aluminum exterior”, Photon further reported. Another significant plus was the device’s superior temperature resistance in ambient temperatures of -20 to +60 degrees centigrade, and the housing protection class IP 65. This all-rounder could therefore “just as well be used in inside or exterior applications”. The panel also commented on the easy handling and installation of the light-weight device, as well as on its quick deployment characteristics.
